Magma Maria has been self-managed by a group of active and former sculpture students since 2020. Since the beginning, the coordination and use of the space has moved along a spectrum between collective artistic and curatorial practice. The diversity of the artistic and organizational approaches of the collective thus fits organically into the use of the space. Therefore, Magma Maria sees itself as a space for the encounter of media, as well as individuals. Since 2020, numerous artists and curators from Germany and occasionally from all over Europe have been able to use and occupy the Offenbach harbor. This space for extended artistic dialogue is to be maintained in 2022.

A prerequisite for organizing a group exhibition of external applicants is that the exhibition concept fits into this dialogue. We therefore encourage all applicants to network with artists from other institutions or to elaborate the concept in terms of interdisciplinary work processes.

Das Magma Maria wird seit 2020 von einer Gruppe aktiver und ehemaliger Bildhauereistudierenden selbstverwaltet. Die Koordination und das Bespielen des Raumes bewegt sich seit Beginn in einem Spektrum zwischen kollektiver künstlerischer und kuratorischer Praxis. Die Diversität der künstlerischen und organisatorischen Herangehensweisen des Kollektives fügt sich somit organisch in die Nutzung des Raumes ein. Daher begreift sich das Magma Maria als Raum für Begegnung von Medien, sowie Individuen. Seit 2020 haben zahlreiche Künstler*innen und Kurator*innen aus Deutschland und vereinzelt europaweit den Offenbacher Hafen nutzen und bespielen können. Dieser Raum für erweiterten künstlerischen Dialog soll auch 2022 erhalten bleiben.
